Wrinkles’ treatments

What it solves

Wrinkles

Signs of the time

Chrono and photo aging

Aesthetic medicine anti-wrinkle treatments are not all the same. At Image Regenerative Clinic the concept of anti-aging is outdated as we prefer to talk about “Regener-Age” referring to a process through which the conquest of one’s ideal appearance takes place gradually, with no risk of having to deal with a complete and sudden new look we may not like. Instead, we guarantee great attention to the result that must always be as natural as possible. This is doable thanks to the multidisciplinary nature of our treatments, and the high expertise of our medical team, led by Professor Tremolada.

Wrinkles, furrows of time

Wrinkles shouldn’t be seen merely as signs of time, but also as traits, furrows of time that often need to be softened and made less visible, but not always erased. This is imperative if we want to avoid blatantly “fake” effects. All types of lines can be successfully treated: from neck to forehead wrinkles, from the nasolabial area to eye contour, right the well-known “barcodes” that can appear on the upper part of the lip.

Where wrinkles come from

Women and men, albeit in different ways, face the first appearance of wrinkles on the face at around the age of 25.

The first signs are basically superficial skin folds and expression lines. They occur, in most cases, due to the failure of the skin structures as a result of a lack of collagen and elastin, determined in turn by the repeated stretching and extension of some portions of skin.

The causes of wrinkles are many and various in nature: first of all age, but also genetic reasons, environmental and constitutional factors, exposure to the sun, eating habits, and smoking.

Different types of wrinkle

Learning to distinguish wrinkles is the first step to fight them and give your skin all the tools to regenerate itself in the most effective way.

There are, in fact, different types of wrinkles, and their differences require them to be treated in the most appropriate way.

  • Mimic wrinkles. They are dictated by the muscles and by our daily expressions. They usually develop above all in the upper third of the face (eyes and forehead) becoming, year after year, the memory of how many times we have made a certain movement. Forehead and periocular wrinkles are usually treated with botulinum toxin, which relaxes those muscles responsible for that given movement. They can also be treated with revitalizers and skin boosters based on vitamins and non-filling hyaluronic acid, lasers and the Lipogems® method.
  • Gravitational wrinkles. These types of wrinkles are determined by the force of gravity. Over the years, we inevitably suffer its action: Our tissues – and not only the skin, but even muscles and internal organs – undergo changes. The most significant is a slow but progressive downward yielding, which creates emptiness on one side and laxity on the other. The classic example of these types of wrinkles are the nasolabial folds that run from the corners of the nose to the sides of the mouth. Facial anti-wrinkle aesthetic medicine treatments for gravitational wrinkles involve the use of hyaluronic acid fillers and the Lipogems® method. In those cases where laxity and emptiness are extremely evident, a surgical solution could be suggested. Sagging skin can be in fact successfully eliminated with facelifts and blepharoplasty. For prevention, there are countless anti-wrinkle aesthetic medicine treatments.
  • Actinic wrinkles. These are determined by repeated exposure to the sun over the years, but also by many other external factors that create oxidative stress, including pollution, medicines, food, smoke and environmental factors. It is known, for example, that in dry & windy climates our skin has a greater predisposition to the appearance of wrinkles. They can be treated with biorevitalizers, skin boosters, microbotox and microinfusions. CO2, Fraxel and Genesis lasers, and various anti-wrinkle face treatments listed at the bottom of the page, are also excellent procedures that work to prevent and correct lines and other skin imperfections.
  • Sleep wrinkles or crinkle lines. These lines are the memory of our body positions in sleep, how we rest our face on the pillow night after night. Whereas at a young age the marks left by the pillow (or even by dreams!) disappear moments after waking up, over the years they tend to remain for longer and longer, sometimes becoming permanent “marks”. Crinkle lines are treated with lasers, biorevitalizers, skin boosters, microbotulinum, microinfusions and targeted anti-wrinkle facial treatments.

How to avoid wrinkles

The first thing to do is to understand what type of skin you have. For example, oily skin tends to develop less wrinkles than dry or dehydrated skin, whereas a delicate skin type is more prone to signs of aging.
In addition to the normal daily skin care treatments, prevention is necessary by resorting to treatments already before signs of aging. But even when the lines make their appearance, aesthetic medicine treatments can improve the situation, and Image Regenerative Clinic provides for the widest range of needs. From the latest generation of Botox to biorevitalization, from fillers that are applied with the highest expertise, to different types of hyaluronic acid and medical peelings.
