Nose aesthetic surgery offers two types of procedures: rhinoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty, interventions that have aesthetic and both aesthetic and functional value.

Rhinoplasty allows a person to change the shape and size of their nose, in order to give them a more satisfying facial harmony. From an aesthetic point of view, rhinoplasty improves the profile and balances nose “weight” according to the other facial features.
It involves remodeling the cartilage and bone that make up the nasal spine. In addition, where required, it allows for a gentler shape of the tip of the nose. Rhinoplasty is also performed to modify any hypercorrections or asymmetries due to previous operations or trauma.
The most modern techniques make it possible to perform rhinoplasty without nasal tampons, for greater comfort after the procedure. The demand for rhinoplasty from men, which is progressively increasing, has to be performed in a way that respects a man’s nasal masculinity.
Rhino septoplasty surgery
Rhino septoplasty is a more radical operation, because – in addition to allowing for remodeling of shape and volume – it focuses on respiratory functions, where these are complicated by a deviated septum. Rhino septoplasty modifies the septum by repositioning the midline that separates the nasal cavities and which, if deviated, causes a reduction in the flow of air through the nostrils, with consequent disturbances to nasal breathing. Septoplasty, therefore, has a functional value. If performed simultaneously with rhinoplasty, it allows the patient to obtain an aesthetic result with the resolution of the functional problem at the same time.
From an aesthetic point of view, this operation guarantees a clear refinement of the face, a more harmonious profile and – in the case of the septum – a clear improvement in respiratory function.

Rhino filler: the non-surgical rhinoplasty
In some cases it is possible to achieve excellent – albeit not permanent – results with Rhino filler, an aesthetic medical procedure consisting of injections of hyaluronic acid to fill and correct certain imperfections. Since all hyaluronic acid fillers are reabsorbed by our bodies within 6 to 10 months, rhino-filler has to be considered a temporary correction.

This operation is appropriate for any type of nose dysmorphia that alters facial features in a dissonant way. Rhinoplasty can be performed to correct a nose that is too long, too large, or too wide, as well as cases where the tip of the nose is too large, maybe with nasal flaring. Rhinoplasty also corrects cases of rhinophyma, a condition that causes the development of a large, bulbous nose. A septoplasty, on the other hand, is required to solve problems associated with a deviated septum, which may be due to genetic reasons or due fractures that have made the nose asymmetrical.

How long does post-surgery swelling last after a rhinoplasty?
Swelling after cosmetic nose surgery can last for over a month. The skin of the nostrils and septum settles very slowly. In case of a septoplasty or rhino septoplasty it will take even longer.
How long will I need to keep wearing any dressings after rhinoplasty?
The patient leaves the clinic without nasal tampons, just a plaster, also known as nose tape, which will be removed in the following week according to the surgeon’s decision. In those cases where the operation is limited to just the tip of the nose, the plaster will not be always necessary. Rhinoplasty without nasal tampons, adopted since time immemorial by Image Regenerative Clinic, is used more and more frequently to ensure greater patient comfort.
