In men, hormonal changes related to the normal aging process and many other factors, lead to hair loss known as androgenetic alopecia – or premature baldness in young men. In women, alopecia is even more painful than in men, and is always a cause of serious embarrassment.

The causes of hormonal alterations that can lead to baldness or progressive thinning are many, often intersecting with each other: the physiological aging process, pregnancy or menopause, medicines, the presence of autoimmune diseases and other factors.
But if in some of these cases the problem may be temporary, and therefore solvable with the restoration of optimal hormonal conditions, in others transplantation emerges as the only effective solution.

During the operation, the doctor performs the partial – and not complete – extraction of the follicle using very thin instruments (0.5-0.6 mm in diameter by 5-6 mm in length). Indeed, research has shown that only part of the follicle is sufficient to produce one or more hairs, because the stem cells are found in the tissue used for the transplant (graft), but also in the tissue of the “donor” area. This translates into new growth of the same quality of hair in both the donor and recipient areas, where the hair can be inserted with minimal and incisions that are particularly close to each other, thus obtaining extraordinary density.

Another plus of the HST method is that no bandage is applied after the operation, unlike what happens in other transplantation techniques, guaranteeing an immediate social return.

Recovery time is also reduced: in the post-operative period, micro-scabs form but they will fall off autonomously in the following days, without causing pain, edema or itching.

Compared to other techniques, such as FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), this transplantation allows you to preserve the donor area as much as possible without depleting it. The regeneration of the explanted area allows, where necessary, possible retouches, after a few months, to further thicken the receiving area.
